Nursing
Staff at the School of Nursing and Midwifery at the University of East
Anglia are keen to work with the Partnership. They have already used
their contacts to obtain books, sterilising units, surgical instruments
and other medical equipment that will be sent to Dedza in the 2007
shipping container.
Sterilising unit
Local medical practices that have responded by donating redundant
equipment include Adelaide Street, Bates Green, North Elmham, St Stephens
Gate and West Earlham.
The School of Nursing and Midwifery is also exploring opportunities
to develop some joint work with the nursing and midwifery services in
Malawi. One of the projects is the possibility of nursing and midwifery
students visiting Dedza on a two week elective to observe a different
health care system.
